Cancellation Policy:

No one wants to cancel a fun trip but we understand that life is unpredictable and things do happen. Get Out and Trek's cancellation policy is built to respect everyone involved.

We intentionally try to use local partners that are LGBTQ supporters. These smaller partners don't have the profit margin to absorb last minute cancellations. Out of respect of our partners and you as our member, each trip's tailored cancellation policy provides you the greatest flexibility while protecting our partners.

When you cancel:

If you cancel, for whatever reason you will forfeit your trip's non-refundable security deposit as well as any additional trip payments per the specifications of trip. See your trips specific cancellation policy.

When we cancel:

We will only cancel for the following reasons:

inclement weather: Your safety and security are paramount to us. We will only cancel a trip if the severity of the forecasted weather threatens that safety and security.

When this type of cancellation occurs only the full refundable amount of the trip will be returned to you.

facility closure: If the partner, vendor, facility or business we subcontract with to provide accommodations or trip activities closes, or goes out of business, and no reasonable alternative can be made in time for the trip dates. When this type of cancellation occurs only the full refundable amount of the trip will be returned to you.

insufficient registrations: If we can not reasonably meet our booking obligations to our partners at a minimum of 10 days prior to the trip we reserve the right to cancel a trip.

When this type of cancellation occurs you will be refunded the full refundable amount of the trip including your non-refundable payment.

Refunds:

Should a refund be issued, the original transaction cost reported to your credit card/bank will be adjusted to the new net amount (originial payment amount - refunded amount). You will not see separate line items of the refunded amount(s) appearing on your statement. Rather, to see the refund, review your online credit card activities and see that the original amount charged was adjusted to the new net amount. The adjustment results will be the same, a surplus will be reflected on your credit card. If you are carrying a balance on your card when the adjustment occurs, the credit card company may apply this surplus to your current balance resulting in a lowering of your next monthly credit card payment. Please review your online credit card account to confirm the transaction has been correctly adjusted. If there are any questions please contact us at findadventure@beagoat.org.

Protecting yourself:

All members are strongly advised and encouraged to attain trip insurance to cover:

  1. Trip cancellations

  2. Medical injury

Purchasing trip insurance prior to any trip is necessary before filing any claim with the insurance provider.

Get Out and Trek strongly recommends purchasing trip insurance.
